Dana's Transformation!

Dana's Makeover

My husband was floored when I walked through the door with a sexy new doo. I had been rockin the same style since 2000. I owe it all to one woman, Runyaro! She is a kind hearted lady who takes care of her customers. She even gives discounts to her clients if you buy your needed supplies through her. Check out the wonderful job she did for me! I’ve already been back!

Featured Article: Thus Far-Alopecia! -by Courtney Allen

Courtney

Did you know that millions of African-American women are affected by sudden hair loss? This dramatic change in physical appearance leaves many hidden for fear of being ridiculed by society. Unfortunately, there is no cure for the condition only treatment. This condition, generally known as Alopecia , is a non-contagious autoimmune disease resulting in hair loss. The autoimmune reaction mistakenly attacks the hair follicles of the body’s immune system. The onset is normally sudden and emotionally stressful for its sufferers. The disorder effects children, teens, and and young adults, most commonly women. Alopecia hair loss may present itself with round, quarter-sized smooth bald patches on the scalp known as alopecia areata--or alopecia totalis which is the loss of all facial and scalp hair. Alopecia universalis is the loss of all body hair. At this time there is no know cause nor cure for alopecia. Studies suggest there may be a genetic predisposition to the disorder, however, no proof is available. Coping with alopecia may be difficult for all who suffer from the condition, especially African American women. Hairpieces and wigs designed specifically for those stricken with severe hair loss are catered toward Caucasian women and very expensive. But, have no fear ladies! I have been living happily with alopecia for nearly 14 years. I will not say I have been as bold as some in embracing my bald head, but I do live a happy and fulfilling life. There are many support groups for suffers of alopecia. One in particular co-founded by and African American woman is AlopeciaWorld.com.

Your Inspiration for Today!

DanaTheFounderOfBHS

Hey everyone!

You know, when I was a student at Texas A&M, I remember pulling all night cram sessions for my electrical engineering exams. Have you ever done that before? I hated it and it was horrible! But one thing I do still laugh about is how me and my study buddies used to get krunk right before the exams. We used to blast Trick Daddy’s song “Let’s Goooooo” like we were about to completely punk that test. We would act soooo silly, “If you want it you can get it let me know….Aye! Aye! Aye!” I still crack up thinking about it.

As silly as it may sound, it helped us get our game faces on. The same applies today. Whatever you need to do to empower yourself to have your business or career reach the next level, do it! Stop sitting around on your “you-know-what” waiting for stuff to happen!

Remember, if God has put YOUR name on it, nobody or no thing can take it away!
