Profile Killers: Are You Making These Mistakes?

Are you making these mistakes? The good news is that these are easy and quick fixes that will allow your profile to get more clicks!

Profile Killer #1 No Profile Photo-

If you have no photo for your profile, I can almost guarantee you that your profile is not being looked at…at all!. For example, if you were on a dating website, would you click on profiles with a photo or without one? And what would you think about the person without the photo? That they were ugly? Dishonest? Didn’t really want a date? It’s the same thing when it comes to your photo on BHS. People relate to images and pictures of people.

Profile Killer #2 (a)- No Photo Album

If you don’t have any pictures of clients, you are not displaying your talents! People want to see how you do your flips, your weaving, your fades, your cuts! That’s why they came to the website. A picture is worth a thousand words!

Profile Killer #2 (b)-Putting Up Pictures of Only Yourself Instead of Your Clients There is nothing wrong with showing your beautiful face, but make sure you’re using the photo album to get more publicity.

Profile Killer #3- Not Updating Your Google Maps…or No Address!

If a potential client wants to find you, they want an exact location. Make sure you include your address, AND make sure that you change your Google Map settings so that the pin mark will not sit smack dab in the middle of the city, but on the street! You can do this by clicking on “My Profile”, and on the box with the Google Maps, you will see a link that will allow you to adjust your map settings.

Profile Killer #4- Having a Distracting Page Layout

Some page layouts are wonderful and complement your page. But make sure not to have a layout that distracts a potential customer from viewing your contact information, pictures, or videos. Customization is a good way to show personality, but it may be a detriment if the customer decides to click off of your profile, going to another one that is easier on the eyes!

Profile Killer #5 Not having a working URL or not including the “http” in front of the www. You want to give your users a clean transition from BHS to your website! Make sure your website is always running smoothly too!

Your Inspiration for Today!

Hey everyone!

A friend called me sometime last week and shared a powerful message with me. Even if you are not a person of faith, pay attention to this parable from the Bible. It comes from Matthew 13:3-8. Jesus is speaking:

(3) Then He spoke many things of them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow. (4) And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. (5) Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. (6) But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. (7) And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. (8) But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty!


You know this really hit home for me. This parable talks about how sometimes we may feel that our actions do not reap the proper outcome or reward. I know I certainly feel that way. How many times have you tried to succeed at something, only to be disappointed with the end results. Or have you tried every method under the sun to accomplish a goal, later to find it was that "one thing" that you needed? Well my friends, this shows us that we need to not be discouraged, and to keep working. Keep working not only harder, but smarter. For it is not the end that we should celebrate, but the journey, process, and growth!

Remember, if God has put YOUR name on it, nobody or no thing can take it away!
