Robbed At Gunpoint! - Stylists & Barbers Beware!

Gun

It's a dangerous world out there. And I am sad to report that one of our own members was in a very dangerous encounter recently. It's a new trend that BlackHairSociety.com wants to raise awareness about. Here is her story:

"I did a girl's hair in the salon. She paid me and I was gathering my things to leave along with her. I turned my back on her for a few seconds, turned around again, and the chic had a gun! She took my wallet! I'm happy to say she is locked up and she has no bond. She's a young chic, 19 years old, and her name is Joslyn Taliaferro. So if you ever by chance come across her (no time soon she facing 20yrs) you will know to avoid her, but I guess she didnt expect me to do anything about it. Another stylist friend of mine was carjacked also. So put the word out to all stylist to BE CAREFUL. It seems that crooks are targeting stylist. Stay safe! Styles By Precious !

Signs of a Scalp Crisis by Dr. Linda Amerson

alopecia1

Alopecia (hair loss) and scalp disorder maladies are at an all time high worldwide. More specifically, there are over 50 millions consumers affected with some form of alopecia and scalp disorder maladies. As a licensed hair care professional, you may be the first person to identify a scalp crisis on your clients. A healthy scalp is vital to healthy hair. I have observed that many consumers neglect the health of their scalp for a trendy hair style, which is not a wise choice. I have also observed, that many professionals are contributing to some of the damage to your clients scalp. I have had many professionals to ask during my seminars, what are the causes of these scalp disorder conditions. Some of the contributing factors include: hair styles, dirty clippers used from one client to another, unsanitized combs used from one client to another, poor diets, systemic diseases, bacterial, viral and fungal infections, and the list goes on. You should make every effort to ensure that you are using sanitized tools and combs for each client. If you suspect a contagious scalp condition, do not service this client. You must protect yourself, and well as your family from spreading contagious scalp conditions. Why am I reminding you about this? Because, in my Clinic, I am seeing an alarming increase in scalp conditions because of lack of Education, Neglect and/or Greed to make the money at any cost. All consumers with visible signs and symptoms should be referred to a Doctor of Trichology, who is an expert in alopecia and scalp disorder conditions.

Listed below are some of the top signs that infom you of a scalp crisis.

* If the scalp looks red or inflamed.

* If the scalp looks blue, beige, black, purple, or any other scalp discoloration.

* If there are pimples or scalp lesions on your scalp.

* If the scalp has black dots on it.

* If there are abrasions of any kind on your scalp.

* If their scalp is excessively dry or oily.

* If there are excessive short or long strands of hair in your comb, hair brush, ( more than 150 strands)

* If you suddenly see round patches of hair loss on their scalp.

* If their scalp is very flaky, it may not be dandruff or dry scalp as you may think it is.

* If there are thinning areas on their scalp.

* If you notice the client pulling their hair out.

* If there is balding in the crown area of the scalp.

Your Inspiration for Today!

DanaTheFounderOfBHS

I turned on the news and saw the flashing headline... "Bernie Mac dead at the Age 50"....then on Sunday Morning, I heard that Issac Hayes was dead as well. I was seriously just blown back. They were some of my favorite entertainers. What some of you may not know is how rough Bernie had it from the get go. Born in a nasty part of Chicago, IL. Grew up with 12 people in one small home. Mother passed away at a young age. Had to do stand up while getting paid nothing! Bernie had all the excuses he needed to give up and quit. To sit down in the crowd and say how bogus this all was. But did he? He became a mega-successful actor/comedian worth millions and millions and from what I read... an even better father and husband. All of this because he was hungry to succeed and wanted it BAD! Get your mindset right and write your goals down. Once there in front of your face and you can see them... don't stop till you get every single thing you put down. If you need help reaching these goals... you know where to reach me. "Because how you start is how you finish" - Bernie Mac's Mother !

Remember, if God has put YOUR name on it, nobody or no thing can take it away!
